I don't think you're overreacting, you're entitled to your opinion of fav' bombers (in my experience, you're probably right), as some people see your self-expression as just another wave in an ocean of free fap material. At the same time, some people don't comment because they honestly feel like they have nothing constructive or intelligent to say, and they don't want to reveal the fool that they fear they are.
I simply feel that a comment is a courtesy rendered to the creator of the work that you enjoy, and it brings the community closer together. I've discovered many different artists through checking the favourites of people who left positive comments.
